The Magnet Filament Monitor determines a range of extrusion problems including:
- Filament ran out
- Extruder skipping steps
- Nozzle starting to jam (causing skipped steps or grinding)
- Filament beginning to grind in the extruder
The rotating Magnet Filament Monitor by Duet3D is very accurate. The magnet rotation in the system is continuously reported back to the mainboard with the aim of anticipating a possible filament jam by pausing. Printing can simply be continued after the problem has been resolved.
