Original Prusa MK4S Kit

Description

The original Prusa Research MK4S offers high-speed 3D printing with ease and is as reliable as all Original Prusa 3D printers. It retains all the best features of the popular MK3—an open-source 3D printing workhorse with easy maintenance and advanced safety features—and offers even more!

The MK4S consistently delivers a perfectly smooth first layer thanks to its load cell sensor (no manual adjustments needed). The next-gen extruder (Nextruder) and 32-bit platform provide numerous improvements in usability, such as remote printing, quick-change nozzles, and a customizable user interface with a one-click print option.

High-Speed Printing Made Easy
Thanks to our custom implementation of Input Shaper and Pressure Advance technologies in the MK4S firmware, the printer can eliminate printing resonances and predict filament flow. The result is a reduction in print time by up to 70% compared to the MK3. Additionally, the printer remains very quiet even at these speeds. Support for high-speed printing will be added later with a firmware update.

Perfect First Layer Every Time
Thanks to the precise load cell sensor, the MK4S can automatically lay down a perfectly smooth and consistent first layer without any user input. At the start of the print, the printer taps the sheet with the nozzle in a grid-like pattern to measure the distance, then calculates the correct offsets. The result is a perfect first layer on any surface, without manual adjustments.

The Nextruder with Breakout Board
The extruder is the heart of any 3D printer. And this one is special. In most 3D printers, replacing extruder components is a rather complicated process. With the new connector board inside the Nextruder, all parts, such as fans, heaters, thermistors, etc., are connected directly there. If you need to replace something, it takes just a minute.

32-bit xBuddy Mainboard
Our new xBuddy board is a 32-bit STM32 mainboard with many great features. It includes several unique hardware-based safety systems, communicates with four thermistors, has all the essential ports (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, works with USB-A sticks), and more. The entire board was developed, manufactured, and tested in-house.

Color LCD Screen and Simple User Interface
The MK4S display supports G-code thumbnails, QR codes, and other elements that make using the printer much easier. Additionally, we have redesigned many of the existing menus and added a customizable footer. Directly below the LCD is an RGB status bar that shows the current status of the printer. Next to the LCD is a USB-A port for standard USB sticks.

Quick-Change Nozzles
Thanks to two quick-release knurled screws on the side of the Nextruder housing that hold the nozzle in place, you can change nozzles easier than ever. The MK4S uses special nozzles with an all-metal filament path (no PTFE tubes), which improves the overall reliability of the printer. A simple Nextruder to V6 adapter is available.
